Cares for a Cause is our way of giving back to our local community. Each month, one of our team members selects a local nonprofit to receive a donation. For November, Lindsey chose Crisis Services of North Alabama!
Crisis Services of North Alabama's (CSNA) mission is to respond to individuals and families in crisis. They provide emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence through HOPE Place, a community crisis line through HELPline (256-716-1000), forensic medical exams, and rape crisis counseling through our Sexual Assault Response program.
They are the local call center for the 2-1-1 information and referral initiative and for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK). They charge no fees for their services and are supported by the United Ways of the counties they service, through public and private grants, individual contributions, and fundraisers such as this one.
Lindsey chose this organization in light of the panic and hardships our community has faced this year. She says, "This year in particular has created so much anxiety for everyone, from job insecurity to the tragedies of COVID-19 to quarantine isolation and everything in between. The Crisis Services of North Alabama offers hope and support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and anyone struggling with mental illness or other crisis. It's okay to ask for help. I don't want anyone to feel they have to suffer alone."
