Boxing for a Cause is our way of giving back to our community. Every month, Image in a Box donates to a nonprofit picked by one of our team members. Jacob chose to donate to the Melissa George Neonatal Fund through the Huntsville Hospital Foundation for December!
About Melissa George Neonatal Fund
The Melissa George Neonatal Fund was created by Amy and Chris George in 2005 in memory of their daughter Melissa Suzanne George who passed away just a few hours after she was born.
The couple was touched by the care that Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children's Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) provided and chose to start a fund that raises money to buy critically needed technology for the RNICU.
The fund has raised more than $3.2 million since 2005 thanks to more than 8,700 individual donors.
Why Jacob Chose Melissa George Neonatal Fund
Jacob chose the Melissa George Neonatal Fund because it helps provide needed technology and equipment to our local RNICU. The fund has also been used to provide care packages and support groups for parents whose children pass away.
He says, "Infant loss is one of the worst things that can happen to a family and anything that we can do to prevent it and/or ease the pain of those suffering is worth doing."
