Have you ever found yourself working on a project in which you had to toggle between multiple software and applications? Perhaps you had to plug data from one system into another or rewrite the same content over and over again to ensure it was in multiple locations.

If you're tired of these mundane tasks but understand the importance of them getting done, integrations may be the answer you didn't know you were looking for.

Read on to learn more.

What are integrations anyway?

Integrations allow you to connect all of the platforms used throughout the different areas of your business into a unified system.

This ensures that the information used from one system to the next is the same, accurate, and up-to-date with no manual entry required...sound nice?

Well, good news! This type of solution is called integration.

Why are integrations important for your business?

Integrations make you more efficient, effective, and accurate.

You can streamline all aspects of your business and ultimately have a single tool that is the source of all pertinent business information when you use integrations.

For example, you can connect all areas of your business from sales and marketing platforms, invoicing systems, phone systems, and more.

The correct integration could make all the difference for you and your team.

Are system integrations complicated?

Integrations may seem complex at first glance; however, they don't have to be.

With the right setup in place, you’ll be able to automate tasks and share data between them without any handholding - making you a more efficient business.

Plenty of tools out there can help, like Zapier, Make, and automate.io (just to name a few).

How to get started with integrations?

  1. Figure out what CRM you need.
Hint. You need a connected CRM capable of pulling in the information from all of your applications that your business uses (i.e., accounting system, marketing system, sales app, project management tool, review system).

Pro tip: Get our CRM Buyer's Guide to help you decide the best one for your business.

  2. Ensure your applications can connect.
Make a list of all of the business applications, tools, and software that your business uses in all of the different departments. Check to make sure that all of them will integrate with your CRM.

Pro tip: Don't get discourage if they don't all directly integrate. There are some work arounds with Zapier, Make and more. Contact us for help figuring this out.

  3. Create a strategically-aligned integration plan.
Once you have the tools mapped out, don't just dive directly into linking all of your systems. If you do this you will not get the full benefit out of each set of integrated data. Instead, put a strategic plan in place that will integrate, automate, and report on information that aligns with your business's goals and current initiatives.
